Ingredients

  • 12 oz. can baked beans
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3/4 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • garlic to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook onion, celery, and green pepper until tender.
  2. Add ground beef to the vegetable mixture and cook until browned.
  3. Drain excess fat from the meat mixture.
  4. Combine the meat mixture with the baked beans, tomato sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, dry mustard, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  5. Simmer the mixture for about 45 minutes.
  6. For best flavor, let the beans set overnight before serving.
