Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. cubed stewing beef
  • 1 (1 lb. 13 oz.) can baby carrots
  • 1 (8 oz.) can baby potatoes
  • 1/3 cup butter flavor Crisco
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce with onions
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 (8 oz.) can green beans

Instructions

  1. Coat the cubed stewing beef with flour, salt, and pepper.
  2. Brown the beef in oil over medium heat.
  3. Drain the excess fat from the beef.
  4. Drain and reserve the liquid from the canned potatoes, carrots, and green beans.
  5. Add water to the reserved liquids to make 2 cups.
  6. Add the beef to the mixture.
  7. Stir in the tomato sauce with onions and thyme.
  8. Cover and simmer for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
  9. Add the drained vegetables and simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
