Instructions
- Cook squash in a small amount of water until tender; drain.
- Add margarine and mash.
- Combine chopped onion, chopped pecans, beaten egg, dry breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, chopped green pepper, grated cheese, and chopped pimientos.
- Add the mixture to the mashed squash.
- Pour into a 1 1/2-quart buttered casserole.
- Top with breadcrumbs and dot with margarine.
- Garnish with pecan halves.
- Bake at 350°F for 35 to 40 minutes.
