Ingredients

  • 1 large cabbage head
  • 1 large white onion
  • 1 large green pepper
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 3/4 cup Mazola oil
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Shred or chop the cabbage. Slice the onion and green pepper thinly.
  2. Add the sugar to the vegetables and toss to combine.
  3. Bring the white vinegar, Mazola oil, celery seed, and salt to a boil in a saucepan.
  4. Pour the hot dressing over the cabbage mixture.
  5. Cover and let sit for 6 hours, stirring occasionally if desired.
  6. Mix well before serving. Keep refrigerated for extended storage.
