A hearty, flavorful beef dish featuring tenderized round steak cooked with onions, tomato-based sauce, and spices, perfect for comforting family dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. round steak (tenderized)
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. Accent
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • 4 Tbsp. catsup
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire
  • 1 1/2 c. stock (bouillon)

Instructions

  1. Pound flour, salt, pepper, and Accent into the tenderized steak.
  2. Cut the steak into strips about 2 inches in size.
  3. Brown the steak strips in oil in a skillet.
  4. Add chopped onion to the skillet before the meat is fully cooked.
  5. Mix catsup, stock, Worcestershire sauce, and chili powder in a bowl.
  6. Pour the sauce mixture over the meat, stirring to dissolve.
  7. Cover tightly and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
  8. Lay pepper strips on top and cook for an additional 20 minutes.
  9. Add water as needed during cooking to maintain moisture.
