Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain croutons
  • 4 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 slightly beaten eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
  • dash of pepper
  • bacon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Sprinkle the croutons evenly on the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese over the croutons.
  4. In a bowl, beat together the milk, eggs, salt, prepared mustard, onion powder, and pepper.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croutons and cheese in the pan.
  6. Optional: crumble 4 slices of bacon on top of the mixture.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until set and golden brown.
