Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 (28 oz.) cans whole tomatoes, undrained
  • 7 c. water
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans
  • 2 (16 oz.) cans pinto beans
  • 1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 5 or 6 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 green peppers, chopped
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 4 Tbsp. chili powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet and drain off the grease.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a large pot.
  3. Simmer for about 2 to 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve hot. Makes about 6 quarts and freezes well.
