Ingredients

  • 1 lb. French bread
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 c. thinly sliced ham
  • 1 medium onion
  • 3/4 c. prepared barbecue sauce
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded Muenster cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Slice the French bread lengthwise from end to end and place both halves on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  3. Combine vegetable oil and minced garlic in a small bowl and brush on the cut sides of the bread.
  4. In a medium saucepan, combine sliced ham, thinly sliced onion, and barbecue sauce.
  5. Cook on the stove for 5 minutes until the mixture is hot and the onion is tender, stirring frequently.
  6. Spread the ham and onion mixture evenly on the bread halves and top with shredded Muenster cheese.
  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
