Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 lb. lean beef roast
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 to 4 whole peppercorns
  • 1 teaspoon dried crushed rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Remove all visible fat from the beef roast.
  2. Place the roast in a slow cooker.
  3. Combine soy sauce, beef bouillon cube, bay leaf, peppercorns, dried crushed rosemary, and garlic powder.
  4. Pour the mixture over the roast, adding water to almost cover the meat.
  5. Cover and cook on low heat for 10 to 12 hours or until the meat is tender.
  6. Remove the meat from the broth, reserve the broth, and shred the meat with a fork.
  7. Serve the shredded meat on hard rolls or French bread and dip into the broth.
