Fried Buffalo Mozzarella
Ingredients
- 4 None small buffalo mozzarella, cut each into 3 slices ⓘ
- 1 cup all-purpose flour, seasoned + 2 tbsp
- 4 None eggs, beaten ⓘ
- 1 3/4 cups breadcrumbs
- 4 tbsp oil, for deep-frying ⓘ
- None None Salad ⓘ
- 7 oz radicchio, leaves separated ⓘ
- 2 heads endive, leaves separated ⓘ
- 1 None red onion, thinly sliced ⓘ
- 1 None lemon, zested and juiced ⓘ
- 1/2 tbsp honey ⓘ
- 1 tbsp olive oil ⓘ
- None None lemon wedges, to serve ⓘ
Instructions
- Dust mozzarella in flour, shaking off excess. Dip in beaten eggs then roll in breadcrumbs to coat. Chill for 10 mins.
- Heat oil over high heat. Working in batches, fry mozzarella for 2-3 mins, until golden. Drain on paper towels.
- For salad, combine radicchio, endive and onion. Whisk together lemon zest, lemon juice, honey and olive oil. Season then toss with salad.
- Top salad with fried mozzarella and serve with lemon wedges.
