Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons water
  • 32 large fresh mushrooms
  • 1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, salt, and pepper in a small bowl; set aside.
  2. Combine eggs, vegetable oil, and water; mix well.
  3. Clean mushrooms with damp paper towels.
  4. Dredge mushrooms in flour mixture; dip in egg mixture.
  5. Roll in breadcrumbs.
  6. Chill at least 1 1/2 hours.
  7. Deep fry mushrooms in hot oil (375°) until golden brown.
  8. Drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve mushrooms with tartar sauce.
