- Clean and soak the dried pinto beans.
- Drain, rinse, and place the beans in a large saucepan; cover with hot water.
- Bring the water to a boil.

- Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 4 to 6 hours or until the beans are tender, adding water as needed to keep the beans covered.
