Fruit-Filled Pockets
Fruit-filled pockets featuring tender dough, sweet pear chunks, and jam, perfect for breakfast or snack. Crispy, warm, and bursting with fruity flavor, these are family favorites.

- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel the pear, cut in half, remove the core, and dice.
- Melt butter in a saucepan until half melted.
- In a bowl, mix 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients and stir until completely mixed.
- Sprinkle about 1/4 cup flour on a clean kitchen surface.
- Place dough on the floured surface and knead about 5 times.
- Gently flatten the dough with your hands and roll out to 1/2-inch thickness.
- Use a cookie cutter to cut out circles from the dough.
- Cut as many circles as possible.
- Arrange the circles on a cookie sheet.
- In a small bowl, beat the egg and water with a fork until blended.
- Dip your finger into the egg wash and dab it around the edge of each dough circle.
- Spoon about 1 teaspoon of marmalade or jam in the center of each circle.
- Add 2 to 3 pieces of pear chunks on top of the jam.
- Fold each circle in half, pressing the edges together with a fork to seal.
- Bake in the oven until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
