- Cream margarine and sugar with an electric mixer.
- Add egg and vanilla, mixing well.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, and salt.
- Alternately add dry ingredients and milk to the creamed mixture, mixing after each addition.
- Pat the dough into a well-greased and lightly floured 10 x 10-inch pan.
- Spread the ready mix pie fruit evenly over the top of the dough.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 1 to 1 1/4 hours.
