Fruit Preserves Pound Cake
Ingredients
- 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar ⓘ
- 4 large eggs ⓘ
- 1 tsp. each: almond and vanilla flavoring ⓘ
- 2 1/2 c. flour ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. each: salt, soda, nutmeg and allspice ⓘ
- 1 c. buttermilk ⓘ
- 1 c. pecans, chopped ⓘ
- 1 c. fruit preserves (which have been mashed) ⓘ
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine ⓘ
- 1 c. sugar ⓘ
- 1/2 tsp. soda ⓘ
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients and bring to boil; let boil slowly for 5 minutes.
- Put on cake while still hot.
