Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 1 cup sweet milk
  • 3 cups flour, White Lily plain
  • 2/3 cup cocoa
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, margarine, and Crisco; beat well.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Sift together flour, cocoa, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and beat well.
  5. Pour the batter into a lightly greased and floured tube pan.
  6. Bake for 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees Fahrenheit or until the cake is done.
