Ingredients

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • marshmallows

Instructions

  1. In a double boiler, heat chocolate chips, water, and vanilla until melted.
  2. In a separate container, sift together the flour and soda.
  3. In another bowl, blend shortening, egg, and brown sugar with a spoon.
  4. Mix the dry ingredients into the shortening mixture.
  5. Add the melted chocolate into the mixture and blend well.
  6. Take frozen marshmallows and wrap dough around each one, one at a time.
  7. Place the wrapped marshmallows on an ungreased baking sheet.
  8. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 5 to 10 minutes.
