Tips & Substitutions

For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream. You can also use fresh mushrooms instead of canned for added flavor. If you don't have Swiss cheese, Gruyère or mozzarella works well too. To enhance the garlic flavor, consider adding minced garlic directly to the chicken before baking. Remember to adjust the seasoning to taste, especially if you use low-sodium soups.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this Garlic Herb Chicken Supreme with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh garden salad for a complete meal. It pairs beautifully with Delicious Potato Soup or can be served over rice or mashed potatoes to soak up the creamy sauces. A crisp white wine would complement the dish nicely.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in an oven-safe dish, cover with foil, and bake at 350°F until warmed through. Alternatively, you can microwave individual portions, but be mindful not to overcook the chicken to retain its moisture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use frozen chicken breasts for this recipe?

Yes, you can use frozen chicken breasts; however, be sure to thaw them completely before baking to ensure even cooking. You may need to adjust the baking time slightly as frozen chicken can take longer to cook through.

What can I substitute for the cream of mushroom soup?

If you prefer a homemade option, you can make a simple white sauce with butter, flour, and broth, then add sautéed mushrooms. Alternatively, a can of cream of celery or cream of chicken soup can be used as a substitute.

How do I make this dish spicier?

To add some heat, consider mixing in red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the sour cream or soup mixture. You can also use a spicy seasoning blend in place of the garlic and herb seasonings for an extra kick.
