- Melt the chocolate and butter in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat.
- Bring sugar and light corn syrup to a boil in separate saucepans over high heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
- Reduce heat and boil gently for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate mixture.
- Pour slowly over eggs, stirring constantly.
- Stir in vanilla and pecans.
- Pour the filling into the pie shell.
- Bake at 375°F for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the filling is completely puffed across the top.
