Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. German chocolate
  • 1/4 lb. butter or margarine
  • 1 2/3 cups cream or canned milk
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 2 unbaked pie shells
  • 1 1/3 cups coconut

Instructions

  1. Mix the German chocolate and butter together until well combined.
  2. Gradually blend in the cream or canned milk until smooth; set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix sugar, cornstarch, salt, eggs, coconut, and vanilla.
  4. Gradually beat in the chocolate mixture into the coconut mixture.
  5. Pour the filling into two unbaked pie shells.
  6. Sprinkle pecans over the top of each pie.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes.
  8. Cool the pies for 4 hours before serving.
