Ingredients

  • 3 cups self-rising cornmeal
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 (8 oz.) can creamed corn
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup grated American cheese
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup Wesson oil
  • 2 cups sweet milk
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix until well blended.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  4. Bake until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 30 to 40 minutes.
