German Gingerbread

Instructions
- Cream the brown sugar, flour, and butter until crumbly; set aside 1 cup of the mixture.
- Mix the baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg into the remaining mixture.
- Add the eggs and buttermilk to the mixture and blend well.
- Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Sprinkle the reserved 1 cup of the mixture on top of the batter.
- Bake in a preheated 325°F oven for 30 minutes.
- Serve with Lemon Sauce.
