Instructions
- Mix dates, boiling water and soda.
- Cream sugar and butter; add eggs.
- Sift together flour, cocoa and salt.
- Add to creamed mixture.
- Add date mixture and vanilla.
- Mix well and pour into 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over batter before baking.
- Bake at 325° for 30 to 35 minutes.
