Instructions
- Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and molasses.
- Mix flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add to creamed mixture and mix thoroughly.
- Form into small balls and roll in granulated sugar.
- Place on greased baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Bake at 350°F for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Remove to a rack to cool.
- Store in airtight container or freeze.
