Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup catsup
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 cup bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 small can crushed pineapple
  • Brown sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, chopped celery, chopped bell pepper, bread crumbs, 1 cup of catsup, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a loaf pan.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven and set aside.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of catsup, crushed pineapple, and brown sugar.
  7. Spread the pineapple glaze over the baked hamburger loaf.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
  9. Serve hot, preferably with rice.
