Glazed Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

- Drain pineapple slices, reserving the juice.
- Combine the pudding mix with the reserved pineapple juice and set aside.
- Arrange pineapple slices in the bottom of a 13 x 9-inch pan.
- Place a walnut or maraschino cherry half in the center of each pineapple slice.
- Pour the prepared pudding mixture over the pineapple slices.
- Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the pudding layer.
- In a large mixer bowl, combine cake mix, instant vanilla pudding, eggs, water, and oil.
- Blend the mixture until smooth.
- Beat at medium speed of an electric mixer for 4 minutes.
- Pour the batter over the pineapple and pudding layers in the pan.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean and the cake begins to pull away from the sides of the pan.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 5 minutes.
- Invert the cake onto a serving platter and let stand for 1 minute.
- Remove the pan and serve.
