Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Cream margarine with 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add beaten eggs and mix to blend.
  3. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with sour cream to which vanilla has been added, mixing just to blend.
  5. Mix chopped walnuts, 1/2 cup sugar, and cinnamon to make the crumb mixture.
  6. Turn half of the batter into a greased 9-inch tube pan.
  7. Sprinkle half of the crumb mixture over the batter.
  8. Pour the remaining batter over the crumb layer.
  9. Top with the remaining crumb mixture.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
