Gooseberry Chutney

A tangy, sweet and spicy gooseberry chutney with raisins, onions, and ginger, perfect for pairing with meats, cheeses, or as a flavorful condiment.

Ingredients

  • 1 qt. partly ripe gooseberries
  • 1 1/2 c. raisins
  • 3 onions
  • 2 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. ginger
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Remove stems from the gooseberries.
  2. Chop the raisins and onions.
  3. Combine all ingredients in a pot.
  4. Cook until the mixture thickens.
  5. Pour into hot jars.
  6. Seal the jars immediately.
