Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1 large onion
  • 1/2 to 2 tsp curry powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 cup water or stock
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • Juice and grated peel of 1 lemon
  • 2 whole cloves

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground lamb in a large skillet; pour off all but 2 tablespoons of drippings.
  2. Push the meat to one side of the skillet.
  3. Add flour to the skillet and brown slightly, stirring constantly.
  4. Add all remaining ingredients and mix with the meat.
  5. Cover and simmer for about 15 minutes or until the onions are tender.
  6. Remove the cloves before serving.
  7. Serve over hot rice.
