Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. reduced-calorie margarine
  • 6 slices thin-sliced whole wheat bread
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese (2 oz.)
  • 1 cup shredded Gouda cheese (4 oz.)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 large clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 cups skim milk
  • 1/4 tsp. red pepper sauce
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 egg white

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Spread margarine on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Cut each slice diagonally into four triangles.
  4. Arrange 16 bread triangles with margarine sides against sides and bottom of an ungreased 8x8-inch baking dish.
  5. In a bowl, combine shredded Monterey Jack cheese, shredded Gouda cheese, chopped onion, chopped garlic, and dry mustard.
  6. In another bowl, whisk together skim milk, red pepper sauce, eggs, and egg white.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the bread in the dish, ensuring the bread is soaked.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 45 minutes or until set and golden.
