Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 small egg
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cardamom
  • 2 cups chopped almonds

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar together.
  2. Beat in the small egg.
  3. Add flour, baking powder, and ground cardamom.
  4. Work in chopped almonds.
  5. Shape the dough into long rolls about 2 inches in diameter.
  6. Chill the rolls in the refrigerator.
  7. Using a serrated knife, cut the chilled rolls into 1/4-inch slices.
  8. Place slices on a greased cookie sheet.
  9. Bake at 350°F for 10 to 15 minutes until golden.
