Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean pork, ground
  • 1/2 lb ground round beef
  • 1 scant cup dry rice
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix ground pork, ground beef, partially cooked rice, chopped onion, salt, and pepper to form meatballs.
  2. Wilt cabbage leaves in water and use this water for basting.
  3. Wrap meatballs in wilted cabbage leaves and place in a baking dish.
  4. Pour 1 cup of the cabbage water over the wrapped meatballs.
  5. Bake covered for 30 minutes.
  6. Uncover and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until cooked through.
