- Add the beaten egg, melted butter, and enough milk to moisten the stiff batter.

- Drop teaspoon-sized dollops of the dumpling batter into the boiling liquid.
- Cook covered without peeking for 18 minutes or until the dumplings are done.
- Remove chicken bones from the cooked chicken, then add the chicken back into the broth with the dumplings.
