Ingredients

  • 1 c. shortening
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. quick-cooking oatmeal
  • 2 c. crisp dry cereal (Rice Krispies, Wheaties, etc.)
  • 1 c. coconut, chocolate chips or raisins

Instructions

  1. Cream shortening and sugar together until well blended.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing thoroughly.
  3. Gradually add the flour, baking powder, and salt mixture into the creamed mixture.
  4. Fold in quick-cooking oatmeal, dry cereal, and coconut, chocolate chips or raisins.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a buttered cookie sheet.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
