Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour milk or cream
  • 1/2 cup Grape-Nuts
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Soak Grape-Nuts in sour milk or cream for 1/2 hour.
  2. Mix the soaked Grape-Nuts and milk with the dry ingredients.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  4. Bake in a moderate oven at 350°F for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out dry.
  5. Allow to cool before slicing. Can be frozen for later use.
