Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp butter or margarine
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 lb fresh green beans
  • 3/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 2 Tbsp tomato paste

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large saucepan; add onion and cinnamon. Cook, stirring often, 4 minutes or until onion is tender.
  2. Add green beans, chicken broth, salt, and pepper.
  3. Bring mixture to a boil.
  4. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, 15 to 20 minutes or until green beans are tender.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in tomato paste.
