Ingredients

  • 2 lb. green beans, washed and trimmed
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 c. chili sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice
  • grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

Instructions

  1. Cook green beans in a small amount of boiling salted water until tender, about 15 to 20 minutes.
  2. Fry bacon until crisp; remove from pan and set aside.
  3. Saute diced onion in the bacon drippings until golden.
  4. Add chili sauce, salt, and allspice to the onions; simmer to combine flavors.
  5. Pour hot sauce over the cooked green beans.
  6. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese and crumbled bacon over the top before serving.
