Ingredients

  • 3 cans whole green beans
  • 15 to 16 strips bacon
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup melted butter or margarine
  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • dash soy sauce
  • seasonings to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut bacon strips in half and secure 9 or 10 green beans in each bundle with toothpicks.
  2. Place the bundles in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Whisk together 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup melted butter or margarine, 1/2 tsp garlic salt, a dash of soy sauce, and any other seasonings to taste.
  4. Pour the glaze over the green bean bundles, ensuring they are well coated.
  5. Cover the pan and refrigerate overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake the bundles uncovered for about 30 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the glaze is caramelized.
  8. Serve warm as a flavorful side dish.
