Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1/2 medium onion
  • 1/4 cup green pepper
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 16 ounces canned tomatoes
  • 1 quart water
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • dash hot pepper sauce
  • 3 medium potatoes

Instructions

  1. Partially fry the bacon slices in a large pot.
  2. Add diced onion, green pepper, and minced garlic to the bacon and sauté until tender.
  3. Pour in tomato sauce, canned tomatoes, water, and add seasonings. Bring to a boil.
  4. Add diced potatoes and simmer until they are almost cooked.
  5. Add grouper fillets and simmer until the fish is done and flavors meld.
