Gumdrop Orange Slice Fruit Cake

Instructions
- Chop all fruits, nuts, coconut, and candies.
- Mix the chopped fruits, nuts, coconut, and candies in one bowl.
- Toss 1/2 cup of flour with the fruit mixture to coat.
- Cream the margarine and sugar together.
- Add eggs one at a time and beat well.
- Sift the soda with the remaining flour.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the creamed mixture, starting and ending with the flour.
- Add vanilla extract to the batter and mix well.
- Combine the batter with the fruit mixture, folding gently.
- Pour the batter into a greased tube pan.
- Bake at 300°F (approximately 150°C) for 2 hours or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven, and while still hot, remove from the pan and ice.
