Ingredients

  • 2 rectangular slices boiled ham
  • 2 slices processed Swiss cheese
  • 10 oz. frozen broccoli spears
  • 1 1/2 tsp. margarine
  • 1 1/2 tsp. flour
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. horseradish mustard
  • 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. grated onion
  • 1 slightly beaten egg yolk
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 tsp. mustard
  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Top each ham slice with a slice of Swiss cheese.
  2. Place half cooked broccoli on each ham and cheese slice.
  3. Melt the margarine in a saucepan.
  4. Blend in flour, salt, horseradish mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and grated onion.
  5. Combine the beaten egg yolk and pineapple juice in a small bowl.
  6. Gradually blend the egg mixture into the butter-flour mixture.
  7. Stir in milk and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thick and bubbly.
  8. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of sauce over the broccoli on each ham slice.
  9. Roll the ham and cheese around the broccoli to form a roll.
  10. Secure each roll with a wooden pick.
  11. Place the rolls in a shallow baking pan.
  12. Cover and bake at 350°F for about 25 minutes.
  13. Spoon hot sauce over the ham rolls before serving.
