Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions

  1. Cream together butter or margarine, brown sugar, egg, vanilla, and lemon juice until smooth.
  2. Sift together flour and baking powder.
  3. Add the dry ingredients alternately with milk to the creamed mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Chill the dough before rolling out and shaping.
