Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. fat
  • 3/4 to 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 c. chopped cabbage
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 1/2 tsp. celery seed
  • 1 c. milk

Instructions

  1. Brown the hamburger with chopped onion in fat until the meat is grey and cooked through.
  2. Add chopped cabbage to the skillet and stir to combine.
  3. Fry lightly, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage begins to soften.
  4. Sprinkle the flour, salt, paprika, and celery seed over the mixture.
  5. Stir well to coat the ingredients evenly.
  6. Pour milk over the mixture and stir to combine.
  7. Cover the skillet and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes until flavors meld and vegetables are tender.
