Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 can red kidney beans
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 recipe cornbread batter

Instructions

  1. Brown the chopped onion and hamburger in a small amount of shortening.
  2. Add the canned red kidney beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. Simmer the mixture for about 15 minutes.
  4. Pour the cooked mixture into a greased baking dish.
  5. Top with the cornbread batter.
  6. Bake in a 400°F oven for about 30 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  7. Serve hot.
