A cheesy, crunchy-topped hash brown casserole with creamy mushroom flavor, perfect for family gatherings, potlucks, or comfort food dinners that everyone will love.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. Southern style hash browns, thawed
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup margarine
  • 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
  • crackers or corn flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Grease a 12 x 18-inch pan and put the thawed hash browns in it.
  2. Heat all the remaining ingredients except crackers or corn flakes and margarine.
  3. Pour the mixture over the potatoes and refrigerate if desired before baking.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes at 350°F.
  5. Remove from oven, crumble crackers or corn flakes on top, and drizzle with melted margarine.
  6. Bake for an additional 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
