Healthy Brown Bread

- Heat 4 cups of water using a coffeemaker.
- In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup hot water with enough cold water to make warm water, not hot.
- Dissolve yeast in hot water.
- In a large plastic bowl, combine the 4 1/2 cups hot water with the remaining cold water.
- Using a two-cup measuring cup, pour in oil first, then molasses and honey, and add salt; stir well.
- Gradually add whole wheat flour to the mixture.
- Mix in seeds.
- Add remaining flour until the dough is soft but firm.
- Knead the dough well and rub the surface with a little oil.
- Cover the bowl and let the dough rise until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide into three parts.
- Shape into loaves and place in bread pans or cake pans.
- Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 20 to 30 minutes until the top is nicely browned.
- Remove from pans and cool on racks.
- Rub the surface with a stick of butter while hot and let cool, covering with a cloth if desired.
