Ingredients

  • 6 slices buttered bread
  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1 teaspoon minced onion
  • bacon or sausage

Instructions

  1. Place 6 slices of buttered bread in a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Lay a slice of cheese on each slice of bread.
  2. Beat together eggs, milk, salt, mustard, and minced onion. Pour over the bread and cheese.
  3. Let set overnight in the refrigerator.
  4. In the morning, fry bacon or sausage until cooked.
  5. Crumble the cooked bacon or sausage and spread over the bread and eggs.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes until golden and set.
