- Brown ground beef and minced onion in butter; do not drain.
- Add spices (cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg) to taste.
- Add rice and brown for a few minutes, mixing well.
- Add chicken broth, water, or a combination of both (2 to 2 1/4 cups per cup rice).
- Bring to a boil and cook over very low heat until rice is done, stirring once or twice.
- Serve with tomato and cucumber salad and plain yogurt.
