Ingredients

  • 1 cup ready-to-mix Borden mincemeat
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup candied fruit, chopped
  • 1 (13 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Put the package of mincemeat, broken, with 1/2 cup water, and boil briskly for 1 minute. Cool.
  2. Combine the mincemeat, nuts, candied fruit, sweetened condensed milk, and beaten egg. Blend well.
  3. Stir in the flour and baking powder.
  4. Pour the mixture into a greased and floured loaf pan.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 1 hour and 30 minutes or until the center comes back when lightly touched.
