A warm, spiced fruit casserole combining sweet peaches, pears, oranges, and cranberries, infused with cinnamon and cloves, perfect for holiday gatherings or cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 26 oz. can pear halves or pieces
  • 26 oz. can sliced peaches
  • 16 oz. can mandarin oranges
  • 12 oz. jar maraschino cherries
  • 16 oz. cans pineapple chunks in natural juice
  • 16 oz. can whole cranberry sauce
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

  1. Spray a 3-quart casserole dish with non-stick spray.
  2. Drain all fruit, except the cranberry sauce.
  3. Mix the drained fruit in the casserole dish.
  4. Let the fruit stand while preparing the spice mixture.
  5. Melt margarine in a saucepan over low heat.
  6. Add lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, and ground cloves to the melted margarine.
  7. Drain any excess liquid from the casserole mixture.
  8. Stir the cranberry sauce into the fruit mixture.
  9. Pour the brown sugar and spice mixture over the fruit.
  10. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 30 minutes.
  11. Cool the dish and refrigerate overnight before serving.
